The brief
Most independent opticians still keep their customer records in notebooks and spreadsheets. The trade software that exists is expensive, built for large chains, and sold as a licence tied to a single machine. What was missing was something simple, affordable, and reachable from any browser.
Our approach
We turned a tool originally built for one shop into a multi-tenant product. Each optician gets an isolated workspace with their own customers, prescriptions and stock. Sign-up is self-service: a seven-day trial with no card required, and a working shop within twenty-four hours. The interface runs in both French and Arabic, with a dark mode.
The product is organised around four modules: customers and records, prescriptions, sales and frames, and reporting. The dashboard brings together monthly revenue, customer count and sales, with a six-month trend — replacing the month-end figures previously worked out by hand.
The critical concern in a multi-tenant product is data isolation: no query should ever cross the boundary between two accounts. We handled that at the data-model level rather than in the screens, so a future feature can’t accidentally open a hole.
Pricing is deliberately legible: two plans, Standard at MAD 100 per month and Premium at MAD 150 per month, no commitment. An optician should be able to understand what they’re paying for without calling a salesperson.
