The brief
Selling glasses online in Morocco raises two specific difficulties: the customer wants to see the frame large and know its size before buying, and payment is still mostly made on delivery. A standard store, built around card payment and a French-speaking audience, answers neither.
Our approach
We built the store from scratch rather than bending an off-the-shelf theme. The catalogue separates sunglasses, prescription frames and lenses, with a size guide built into the product page. Cash on delivery sits alongside bank transfer and online payment as an equal option. The interface is fully bilingual French and Arabic, including the mirrored layout for right-to-left reading.
The most delicate work was the Arabic switch. Translating strings isn’t enough: the whole composition mirrors, directional icons flip, and numbers still read left to right inside a right-to-left sentence. These details go unnoticed when handled properly, and are glaring when they aren’t.
The store carries what a serious retail site is expected to have: customer accounts, wishlists, in-store appointment booking, terms and privacy pages, and a compliant cookie consent banner.
The store extends a long-running collaboration with Socrate Optic across their digital tools, from the shop counter through to online sales.
